It’s hard to believe that BioGenius has already been around for 20 successful years. During this time, the company has established itself as an innovative and reliable partner in the laboratory industry. When I began my journey at BioGenius in 2015 as a product tester in the lab, I had no idea of the exciting developments that lay ahead, both for myself and for the company.
The first three years I spent in the lab were marked by intensive work and a steep learning curve. Afterward, I decided to broaden my horizons by pursuing a degree in pharmaceutical chemistry, which led me to leave the company temporarily. However, I remained in close contact with my former supervisor and mentor, Karl-Heinz Lüpkes. This connection ultimately resulted in an offer to return to BioGenius as a project manager after completing my studies—a challenge I was happy to accept.
Since 2021, I have been serving in this role. As a so-called "rebound employee," I have witnessed BioGenius' development over the years and now have the opportunity to actively contribute to its ongoing growth. This unique perspective allows me to critically evaluate established processes, identify opportunities for improvement, and drive innovation.
The role of project manager at BioGenius offers a unique opportunity to work in a highly specialized niche industry. Particularly exciting is the close collaboration with international clients and the significant involvement in the development and validation of effective biocidal products aimed at protecting people and the environment.
Working in a smaller company means quickly becoming a versatile all-rounder. In addition to my role as a project manager, I have gained valuable experience in areas such as marketing, sales, and IT. At BioGenius, it's essential that every employee is willing to think outside the box and take on various responsibilities. This flexibility and versatility are key to the company’s success and the strong team spirit that defines BioGenius.
Over the past 20 years, BioGenius has continually evolved. A major milestone in the company’s recent history was its acquisition by viridiusLAB AG. This integration into a network of testing laboratories not only creates new synergies but also allows us to expand our team and our range of services. As a result, we can offer our clients an even broader spectrum of solutions in the future. I am confident that BioGenius will continue to grow and overcome exciting new challenges in the years to come.
